So, I bought a computer from Walmart and I have installed a new PSU and a Graphics card (I still have an in-store warranty btw.) but for some weird reason, every time I just watch a youtube video / play a game on my computer, it just flickers then it crashes.

I've already tried deleting the drivers using drive sweeper at Safe Mode and reinstalled it but it still wouldn't do the trick. I haven't tried roll backing the drivers yet so it may be an option. Or it could be that the motherboard can't take the graphics card but I do not know of that one yet.

This is what I've got. (copied using Belarc Advisor)

so yeah. Thanks, you guys rock!

edit: sorry for making two topics. It's because when I tried to Post New Topic at Windows 7, it just crashed for some weird reason. And I'm not sure where to post this problem.

Did you disable the onboard graphics...in the BIOS?

When I restarted this comp after seeing your reply, I went to the BIOS and it's the Integrated Peripherals correct? Because that's the only place I could see where the graphics are.

Anyway, to answer the question: yes it was already disabled. To be more precise, it's in gray color.

I would take it this is the video card you installed correct?
Graphics:
CrossfireX ATI Radeon 5570

If so, can you please tell me a little about the on-board video processor?

hmm?

how do I look that up?

oh, if you mean the one from the box itself then it's the nVidia GeForce 6150SE Integrated. I believe the first time I tried it, it was only 16 MB or something.

Since you have onboard video...it should be rather easy to see where the problem lies.

Yes, that was the answer I was looking for. Thank you.

I just checked out Nvidia's web site for the specs on your intergrated Nvidia GeForce 6150SE video processor @

http://www.nvidia.com/object/mobo_gpu_tech_specs.html

I see that it does not support Direct X 10.0 or higher and it lacks support for a lot of other video features.

Best thing to do is find a way to disable that on-board video processor and give full control to the CrossfireX ATI Radeon 5570 add-on card. Also see if you can get updated drivers from their web site

at http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx

By the way ATI and AMD have merged so the link above is correct.

I also realise you said earlier (QUOTE: I went to the BIOS and it's the Integrated Peripherals correct? Because that's the only place I could see where the graphics are.

Anyway, to answer the question: yes it was already disabled. To be more precise, it's in gray color.)

I would therefore say the onboard video is disabled, however, one way to find out is by attaching another monitor to the onboard video port and see if it is still active or not.

welp... it's disabled since the on board one doesn't power up or anything.

and yeah... checked at the drivers and it's the latest one that they've got...

guess I should just wait for the patch? hmmm...

I would also enable the onboard video...just to see if the onboard works (temporarily remove the physical card).

If not, you have a bigger problem.

RMA time?

I'd also mention the known problem during the RMA discussion.
